Mahuki is Te Papa's innovation incubator. It is part of Te Papa's digital vision — reaching beyond museum walls to connect people with our rich collections and experiences. By fostering successful businesses and ideas we'll help to transform the global cultural sector, and help New Zealand to become the technology and ideas-led nation we want to be.
Mahuki is an annual programme, with a fresh wave of innovators completing the four month programme each year. Applications open on the 3rd April and close on the 29th May 2017. Successful applicants begin the programme in July 2017.
The outcomes of Mahuki will support cultural institutions like Te Papa to:
- innovate and remain relevant in an increasingly digital world
- keep delighting our audiences - in person and online - and enable them to go deep into our collections, beyond the physical display
- achieve efficiencies and improve our business performance.
